SoCal RB lands offer No. 1

Running back Jonathan Diaz (5-8, 170, 4.5) is one of the main reasons that Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral has been so competitive over the last couple of years even though it is a relatively new school. The talented running back has been flying somewhat under the radar, but things are changing on the recruiting trail for the playmaking Diaz.
Chaparral has a lot of weapons at their disposal and though Diaz is the featured offensive player, he is all about winning and doesn't mind if the ball is spread around, as long as the end result in winning. He also displays leadership and a team first attitude.

"I don't mind at all when we spread the ball around," Diaz said. "I know those guys will make big plays so if we are predominately passing and its working then that's what we have to stay with. I just have to pass block and help the team any way I can."
You don't have to worry about Diaz getting his touches as he received plenty of them his junior season. He had 300 carries, for 2,084 yards, and 32 touchdowns, while averaging 7.0 yards per carry. His long run for the season was 74 yards. He's also a threat out of the backfield hauling in 15 receptions, for 166 yards, while averaging 11.9 yards per catch. Furthermore Diaz played some defense when needed, racking up 11 tackles and two interceptions.
Diaz earned first-team all-CIF, first-team all-county, first-team all-league, Area Player of the Year and League Player of the Year for his junior season performance.
On the recruiting trail, Diaz has received his first offer and he is receiving other recruiting attention.
"I'm hearing from Nevada, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Boise State and Air Force has given me an offer," Diaz said. "I'm going to take my time though, but I'm really going to consider my offer from Air Force. I'm really interested in that and what is going to happen with all the other schools."
Does the talented running back have any have any favorites outside of Air Force?
"I really like Boise State," Diaz said. "That is the school that I really want to go to. They have a great football program and I like the area. It is pretty nice out there.
Is it the blue field?
"The blue field has nothing to do with it," Diaz said. "I like their football. They're a good team and I would probably fit into their offense."
