SoCal RB favors the Sun Devils

One of the bigger sleeper running back prospects out West this year is Compton (Calif.) Dominguez' Elijah Wesson. Wesson has put together back to back 1,000 yard seasons and has a solid group of scholarship offers on the table at this time.
Wesson is a speed back with quick feet who finishes his runs well. He was a standout in the position drills at the SoCal Nike camp and is a key cog in the Dons explosive wing T offense. The running back rushed for 85 yards on just four carries including a 34 yard touchdown in the teams 54-0 win over Crescenta Valley in the opening round of the playoffs last Friday.

On the recruiting front, Wesson has been racking up offers since the summer and said he has a solid group of five schools he's currently considering.
"I like Northern Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Nevada and Oregon," Wesson said. "All of them have offered except Oregon. Arizona State is my top school right now. They have a great program and I've always wanted to play in the Pac 10. Plus the school is close to home but not too close. I haven't set up any of my trips yet, I'm going to wait until after the playoffs are over. My plan is to take all five visits and then I'll make my decision but I'm really liking ASU right now."
