SoCal QB picks up another

Quarterback Cody Fajardo (6-2, 197, 4.7) from Anaheim (Calif.) Servite is beginning to pick up some steam on the recruiting trail. And why not? All he did was lead his team to a California State championship.
Just last week Fajardo picked up a new offer to with San Jose State and Towaon. He also had three schools came by the Servite campus to take a gander at Fajardo.

"UNLV has offered Cody," Servite coach Troy Thomas said. "Nevada, Wyoming and Nebraska came by the school to check Cody out."
Fajardo will visit San Jose State this weekend (Jan. 15) and UNLV the following week (Jan. 22).
In an earlier interview Thomas was certain that teams would look very smart if they would just check his quarterback out.
"To me, Cody can play in the Pac 10," Thomas said in an earlier interview. "I think he can do it. We had another quarterback, Dan Klein, who was offered by (Cal Bear head coach) Jeff Tedford and not to take anything away from Dan Klein, but I'll tell you what Cody is as good or better than Dan Klein and he was a heck of a player for us, a three-year starter.
"To me Dan is probably the best quarterback on UCLA's campus," Thomas said. "They just don't know he's playing baseball over there (laughs).
"Cody is a football player," Thomas said. "He's what you look for in any position for us. He could have played safety for us, there is no doubt in my mind he could have been our starting safety. He's that kind of athlete and that type of physical player."
Fajardo broke his own completion percentage record his senior season by hitting on 70 percent of his passes. He had 178 completions out of 257 completions for 2,444 yards and 21 touchdowns while hitting on 69.3 percent of his passes. He only threw two interceptions on the season. He rushed for 1,118 yards on 189 carries while averaging 5.9 yards per carry and scored nine rushing touchdowns.
Fajardo earned his League's Co-MVP and made the all-Pac 5 team for his senior season performance.
It won't be surprising to see stock get even hotter over the last three weeks of recruiting for the class of 2010.
