SoCal QB lands first two offers

One of the fastest rising quarterback prospects on the west coast is Jacob Crook (6-1, 200, 4.8) from Glendora, Calif. He has been steadily on the rise since his fine performance at the NIKE Camp held in Palo Alto and he has recently received his first two offers.
The reason that many are excited about Crook’s future is he has only been playing football since his freshman year in high school. Until then he was concentrating on baseball.

The talented Crook has been a three year starter on the varsity level. Not bad for a neophyte to the game.
Crook has been getting better every year. As a junior, Crook threw for 1,596 yards and 13 touchdowns while earning first-team all-league honors.
“Jacob is just beginning to realize how good he can be as a football player,” Glendora coach Mark Pasquarella said. “He has rare arm strength and he can make all the throws.”
“Jacob has a quick release and good mechanics,” Pasquarella said. “He throws the ball very well.”
Crook has already received scholarship offers from Wisconsin and UNLV. Notre Dame, USC, Oregon State, Oregon, ASU and UCLA have also shown interest in Crook.
Crook was at UCLA’s one day camp last Sunday and drew praise from the coaches at the camp.
Football has come to Crook later than a lot of players, but he is a natural and the consensus is his best football is ahead of him.
Crook also still very much interested in playing baseball. He was really getting the job done batting about .390 until he was hurt, missing four games and when he returned he dropped about 70 points and ended up hitting .320.
What is Crook looking for in a school?
“Academics are real important to me,” Crook said. “Sports will be my ticket for a higher education.”
Crook is already qualified with a 3.2 GPA and 970 SAT score. He is planning to retake the test.
