SoCal OL makes pledge

Offensive tackle Carl Wilson (6-4, 275, 5.2) from Redlands (Calif.) East Valley saw his stock rise with an outstanding senior season. He has offers on the table from Wyoming, San Diego State, San Jose State, UTEP, Colorado and Kansas. He has take three visits to UTEP, Wyoming and he just returned from a visit to Kansas.
"Kansas was cool," Wilson said. "I liked it a lot."
"I really liked their coaching staff," Wilson said. "They made me feel at home."
"The players were cool, too," Wilson said. "I loved the facilities and I generally had a good time up there."
"The trip felt good," Wilson said. "I just talked to Coach Earnest Collins and I committed to Kansas."
Not only did Wilson commit to his college choice but the good news doesn't stop there. He was selected first-team all-league and is under consideration for all-CIF honors.
Wilson is outstanding in pass protection. He was beat never by his man the night saw him in action. That is saying something playing weakside tackle.
In an earlier interview with East Valley coach Kurt Bruich he had the following
"The thing I like about Carl is he has a mean streak for a big kid," East Bruich said. "He loves to mix it up."
"Carl has great technique and his pass blocking skills are excellent," Bruich said. "He's only going to get better."
