SoCal OL lands first offer

Offensive tackle Bryan Peters (6-5, 305, 5.1) from La Mirada, Calif., is another offensive lineman to keep your eyes on. He already has one offer on the table and his film is just beginning to hit colleges so there is every indication that Peters is going to get quite hot on the recruiting trail this spring.
"I think Bryan is an athlete with tremendous upside," La Mirada coach Mike Moschetti said. "I'm not saying he's ready to go to Oklahoma and play from day one, but he's as close to being ready as can be.

"Bryan is a kid who is getting better and better every single month," Moschetti said. "What I mean by every month is in the weight room.
"Bryan is a guy who two years ago never lifted a weight before in his life," Moschetti said. "He has worked his tail off harder than anyone on our football team.
"Every month his numbers just go up and up and up," Moschetti said. "That's what is making him such a great and intriguing prospect.
"Bryan is still a baby," Moschetti said. "When you look at him, he still has some baby fat.
"We had a kid here that I played with in the 90's named Ben Adams," Moschetti said. "He (Adams) signed with Texas and Bryan reminds me of Ben, but at this stage in Bryan's career, he's a better player than Ben.
"Bryan has real long arms and technically he is really, really sound," Moschetti said. "He just needs to get stronger. He has great feet and like Coach Steve Marshall of Cal said, he has great hips. He's not stiff. Plus he's a mean kid on the football field and that's what you want an offensive lineman to be."
In the weight room, Peters has a current bench of 325 and squats about 450. Remember he has been lifting for a long time and he does have long arms so that is a pretty good bench.
"Down the road," Moschetti said. "Peters is going to be an outstanding college football player.
"Bryan is really intrigued by the academic part of college," Moschetti said. "He carries a 4.0 GPA so he is interested in the academically inclined schools like Stanford, UCLA, Northwestern, Michigan and Virginia."
On the recruiting trail, besides Cal's interest, Peters already has an offer from Nevada. Schools such as Notre Dame, UCLA, Colorado, Nebraska, Michigan and Virginia are already expressing interest in Peters.
