SoCal OL gets his first offer

Offensive lineman Mark Clampitt (6-2, 260, 4.9) from Torrance (Calif.) West Torrance first caught the eye of Rivals.com at USC's big man camp back in June. He was one of the most technically sound linemen at the camp.
The only question mark at the time was his size, but he has worked hard and picked up close to 15 pounds of muscle since then. He now tips the scale at 260-pounds.

Clampitt picked up his first offer before Christmas from Idaho State and he is hearing from the likes of New Mexico, San Diego State, Utah State, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Oregon State.
"I felt relieved to get my first offer," Clampitt said. "I was pretty excited."
"Idaho State is recruiting me to play guard," Clampitt said. "I will visit to Idaho State on January 16th."
San Diego State and Cal Poly Obispo are talking visits. He has already visited both schools unofficially.
Honors haven't come out for his senior season, but Clampitt earned his team's Offensive MVP as an offensive lineman for his team as junior. Pretty impressive when you consider his team had a back who signed with USC last February. He also earned first-team all-league and first-team all-area.
