SoCal linebacker explodes

If you want to run a pressure defense quick playmaking linebackers who can get to the football will definitely help your cause. One player who fits the bill is Quentin Greenlaw (6-0, 215, 4.58) from Oxnard (Calif.) Rio Mesa.
"What jumps out at you when watching his tape is Quentin has the ability to run people from behind," Rio Mesa coach Bob Gregorchuk said. "He is incredibly explosive and has a nose for the football.

Greenlaw has legitimate speed for a linebacker and he used it to rack up 89 tackles, three sacks and one blocked kick as a junior.
The talented linebacker also runs track for Rio Mesa and runs the 100-meter in the 10.8 range. That is moving pretty good for a linebacker. He also participates in the 400-meter and 4x100.
The 4x100 team has already recorded a faster time than the team Rio Mesa fielded last track season that came in fourth in the state meet.
"Quentin is a great character guy who is excellent in the classroom," Gregorchuk said. "He is already qualified as he passed his state exam and carries 3.0 GPA.
"What is even more impressive is he takes honors courses in addition to playing football and track," Gregorchuk said. "He's special.
"Quentin is a leads by example type guy," Gregorchuk said. "He's not very vocal, he just goes out and gets the job done, on and off the field.
On the recruiting front Greenlaw has early recruiting interest from Air Force, Navy, Oregon, Washington, Penn State and Fresno State.
