SoCal LB up to four offers

Linebacker Shelly Lyons (6-1, 240, 4.7) from Corona (Calif.) Centennial has seen his sleeper status into bona vide prospect since the spring and has seen his offers climb to four.
As a junior Lyons racked up 88 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception. His performance saw him earn all-league honors as a junior.

Lyons received his first offer from San Diego State back in March and since then, he has received offers from Utah, UNLV and Idaho.
Arizona, Arizona State, Washington and Ole Miss are also showing recruiting interest in Lyons.
Though Lyons hasn't set up any official visits yet, that could change in the very near future.
"I haven't set up any visits yet, but UNLV and Utah want me too," Lyons said. "I want to setup visits early in my season so I know what schools I will be visiting in the winter.
"Arizona is my top school out of the schools that hasn't offered me yet," Lyons said. "Utah is my top school out of the schools that have offered me.
"I like the way Arizona plays defense. They're always pretty good. I would also like to play in the Pac 10. It is a very competitive conference.
"I like the coaches at Utah," Lyons said. "They are pretty cool. After that I don't know much about the school.
"My plan is to set all visits after school starts and then take them after the season.
What is Lyons looking for in a school?
"Getting a good education will be the top priority in my decision making process," Lyons said. "Football wise I would like to play for a competitive team.
In an earlier interview with Centennial head coach Matt Logan, he had the following to say about his fast rising linebacker.
"Shelly was kind of a big soft kid when he arrived on campus and he was kind of green as a football player," Logan said. "But he has grown into a tough hard-nosed football player with a great nose for the football.
"Shelly is still a puppy and is raw, but his upside is immense," Logan said. "From game one to game 12, he just kept getting better and better.
"We are going to move him inside this season," Logan said. "He's going to be in charge of our defense and call the plays.
"Shelly is going to make sure everybody is going to be in their proper alignment," Logan said. "He has really come a long way.
