SoCal LB sets first visit

Three-star linebacker Luke Laolagi (6-2, 210, 4.6) from Lake Balboa (Calif.) Birmingham has set up his first official visit and is on the verge of setting up a second.
If Laolagi’s season is over by December 3rd he will take his first visit to San Diego State. If he and his Birmingham teammates are still in the playoffs then they Laolagi will end visiting the Aztecs on December 10th.

“Luke is excited about taking this trip to San Diego State,” Sam Laolagi, Luke’s Dad said. “He will be hosted by Aztec linebacker Kirk Morrison.”
“My wife and I will go along on the trip,” Laolagi said. “Luke is also excited about going to (Junior) Seau’s restaurant for lunch.”
Utah is line for the second visit. Laolagi will probably visit the Salt Lake City campus on December 10th on the condition that he had already visited San Diego State.
If the Aztecs take the December 10th slot then Laolagi will try to set up a visit with the Utes on the 17th of December or for one sometime in January.
Laolagi and his Birmingham teammates currently stand at 6-4 after playing one of the toughest non-conference schedules in Southern California. The Patriots are 4-1 in league play with their lone loss coming at the hands of four-star quarterback Josh Portis Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft.
They will play Los Angeles (Calif.) Fremont (8-2) this Friday Evening at Birmingham.
One of the reasons for Birmingham’s success has been the play of Laolagi.
So far in 2004, Laolagi has accounted for 121 tackles, 55 are solos, 25 tackles for loss, seven fumble recoveries (one recovery that he brought back 34 yards for a touchdown), six sacks, and three interceptions (one that he brought back 77 yards for a touchdown).
San Diego State must have been in attendance last Friday evening because the Aztecs are the latest school to offer the talented linebacker a scholie.
Besides San Diego State and Utah, Laolagi has offers from Nevada and San Jose State.
