SoCal LB making name

Linebacker Chad Lowe (6-0, 230, 4.7) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey is another unheralded player who is beginning to open eyes from colleges along the West Coast. He had superb performance last week when Dorsey took on Lake Balboa (Calif.) Birmingham.
One the night Lowe had more than 10 tackles against a team that likes to throw the ball. That means Lowe in on almost every running play. One thing we noticed was Lowe’s speed to the football.

On the season Lowe has racked up more than 50 tackles while helping Dorsey to a 4-1 record. The Dons' only loss came at the hands of Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne the first game of the season.
Since them Lowe and his Dorsey teammates have run off four straight victories. Included in that run were victories over Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic and Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds.
Against Catholic, the game was a very tight battle 7-7 near the end of the first half when Lowe picked off a pass and scampered 57 yards for a touchdown. The Dons had the momentum the rest of the night and won the game 27-7.
In the win against McClymonds, Lowe said they held four-star quarterback Kyle Reed to 27 passing yards.
No wonder Lowe is getting consistent phone calls from the likes of Cal Oregon, Oregon State and Colorado.
As a junior, Lowe was selected first-team all-league and second-team all-area after racking up 148 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, six sacks and two interceptions.
“Josh had 148 tackles last season,” Dorsey assistant coach Ralph Caldwell said in an earlier interview with Rivals.com. “That alone speaks tons about his ability.”
“Last year was his first year playing middle linebacker and got 17 tackles for loss. He’s has great instincts and a nose for the football.
“Josh is very strong, very dedicated and very competitive. He’s very smart and a student of the game. We have had an all-city or All-American linebacker for 12 years in a row. Chad is going to be the next one.”
