SoCal LB makes the call

One of the things that New Mexico State head coach DeWayne Walker was known for while he was defensive coordinator at UCLA was recruiting. He was even Pac 10 recruiter of the year during his short stint in Westwood. Walker went back to his old recruiting stomping grounds and landed an outstanding linebacker prospect for the Aggies.
The linebacker in question is Dylan Davis (6-1, 224, 4.6) from Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure.

"I went on a trip to New Mexico State this weekend and I committed," Davis said. "I really liked it. I liked the facilities and I liked the coaches. I think they are going to turn it around and I want to be a part of that.
"New Mexico State have been recruiting me for a long time and they offered me in May," Davis said. "They have stayed on me and I know they want me. I didn't want to go to school and a down the line type of guy.
"I think I'm a good fit there," Davis said. "Las Cruces as a town is not too big and not too small. It's not too big where the traffic is going to be crazy and it is not too small where there won't be anything to do. I grew up in a town like Las Cruces and I liked it."
