SoCal LB lands two offers

Linebacker/fullback Todd Golper (6-1, 227, 4.62) from Arcadia, Calif., has jumped out of the box this recruiting season with two Pac 10 offers. He could be on the verge of three more scholies.
There is good reason for all the excitement around Golper these days. He earned his league's Defensive Player of the Year. Golper was also selected first-team all-state underclass, first-team all-area and all-league.

Golper racked up 122 tackles, 11 sacks, nine quarterback hurries, four forced fumbles and two interceptions, both of his picks were returned for touchdowns.
If Golper plays offense on the D-I level he will do so as a fullback, but he plays tight end on the high school level. From his tight end spot, Golper had 30 receptions for 520 yards and six touchdowns.
On the recruiting trail, Golper recently picked up his first two offers from Stanford and UCLA.
The word is Oregon, UConn and Georgia Tech is close to be tendering offers. USC came by the Arcadia campus to see Golper's tape and to pick up his transcripts.
Wake Forest has already started sending handwritten letters and Golper is receiving emails from Vandy.
"Obviously my top two schools are UCLA and Stanford," Golper said commenting on his current recruiting status. "UCLA offered me to play middle linebacker and that's where I hope to play.
"Stanford has great academics and I like their coaching staff," Golper said. "Coach Jim Harbaugh is a fiery guy and I like Coach Clayton White the man who is recruiting me for Stanford.
What about UCLA?
"My Dad went to law school at UCLA and my brother goes to law school right now at UCLA," Golper said. "It is hard for me not to commit to UCLA, but I just want to make sure that I make the right decision.
What is Golper looking for in a college?
"Academics come first," Golper said. "Then campus life and comfort level. I prefer to stay on the west coast.
