SoCal LB is SEC bound

For the last month or so, we thought Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice linebacker Jimmy Miller was headed to the SEC to play for Alabama. We’ll we were half right as Miller is SEC bound but he won’t be playing for the Tide.
“I just committed tonight to Mississippi State,” Miller said. “I’m taking my official visit this weekend and canceled the rest of the trips I had set. I’ve never been there before but I did a lot of research and I’m confident Mississippi State is the best place for me.

“I love SEC football, there is really nothing like it. The atmosphere at the games and the passion the fans have out there, I really wanted to be a part of it. My older brother Eddie (UCLA) took a ton of unofficial visits when he was a senior, he checked out like 12 different colleges but he said Mississippi State was the best place he visited.
“I really like the coaching staff there, especially Coach Croom. I’m excited to play for him and I think with the depth they have at linebacker, there is a good chance I could play early there. There were a lot of good schools I was looking at, Alabama, Florida State, Florida but I wanted to be somewhere where I was really needed and I felt that place was Mississippi State.”
Miller, 6-1, 220 pounds is one of the elite linebackers in the West region and a talented fullback as well. He finished the season with 148 tackles in just nine games this season and has the size, speed and athleticism to play inside or outside backer in college.
