SoCal LB has two visits

Corona (Calif.) Centennial is one of the best teams in Southern California and has several D-I prospects on their roster. One of them is linebacker Shelly Lyons (6-1, 240, 4.7).
Lyons has offers from Utah, San Diego State, UNLV, Fresno State and Idaho. Arizona and Arizona State are also showing interest and are recruiting Lyons hard.

"I was going to take an official visit to Fresno State in January," Lyons said. "But they are now trying to move the visit up.
"I was going to visit UNLV on December 8th, but the championship game will be played on that weekend so I will probably have to reschedule that visit as well," Lyons said. "Fresno State and UNLV are the only two visits I have set up.
"I'm also talking to San Diego State for an official visit, but I have already been there on an unofficial visit," Lyons said. "Idaho is also taking to me about taking a visit.
"I really like Fresno State, San Diego State and Utah," Lyons said. "They are my three top schools right now.
"I like Fresno State because of their style of defense," Lyons said. "It is also close to home, but not too close, and I also like their coaches.
"With San Diego State, they have been recruiting me the longest and were the first school that offered me," Lyons said. "I like the Utah program and I like their coaches.
Lyons has been very active for his 11-1 Centennial team racking up95 tackles, for seven tackles for loss, four sacks, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
As a junior Lyons racked up 88 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception. His performance saw him earn all-league honors as a junior.
Centennial will be playing in the semifinal game this Friday against Chaparral the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season.
