SoCal LB gets No. 1

Linebacker Tre Madden (6-1, 220, 4.5) from Mission Viejo, Calif., has the skills you look for in a linebacker prospect. He finds the football and then goes and makes plays. He is relentless in pursuit, never quits on a play and can hit. He also has outstanding speed and explosion.
The hard hitting Madden earned League Defensive MVP, all-league, all-CIF, and all-state as a junior after racking up 110 tackles, two sacks, two caused fumbles, one interception and one fumble recovery.

Madden has already caught the attention of Division I colleges and already has offer on the table from Washington. The Huskies may have been the first to offer the talented linebacker but they could soon be getting some company because he is getting serious recruiting attention from Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, USC, Colorado and Boise State.
"It felt great getting an offer from Washington," Madden said. "I don't know much about Washington, actually, but my teammate from last year, Michael Criste is heading up there and he told me he loved it. I'm thinking about it."
Madden recently took in USC's junior day.
"USC was good," he added. "I was able to get a lot of information on their education and how their school is and the athletics. I like USC's coaching staff."
What is Madden looking for in a college?
"A great atmosphere," Madden said. "I would like to be close to home, not in location, but a place that I could live at outside of school. I also want to play on a great team.
Madden will take in at least two camps. He is planning on going to the NIKE Camp in April and the USC Rising Stars Camp in June.
A hard worker, Madden has a current bench of 350, squats an amazing 600-pounds and has recorded a 34-inch vertical jump.
