SoCal kicker makes his decision

You don't see too many kickers receive scholarship offers and even fewer punters land a Div I ride. West Covina (Calif.) South Hills punter Kyle Peterson had no such problems and had a handful of scholarships offers before narrowing his choices to UTEP and Fresno State.
"Kyle committed last night to UTEP," South Hills coach James Escarcega said. "It was tough because he really liked Fresno State but he just felt UTEP was a better overall fit. He loved his visit there and loved the city. Texas football is big time and Kyle loved that about the place. UTEP has their own punting coach and a great special teams program.

"He also loved Coach Price and likes the direction of the program. Kyle visited Duke also and USC is still recruiting him. They wanted Kyle to wait until after this weekend to see where they were at scholarship wise but Kyle didn't want to wait and he's excited about his decision."
Peterson, 6-2, 160 pounds recently participated in the Army All-American game and is regarded as the top punter in the West region.
