SoCal DT to take visit

Three-star defensive tackle Noel Beckles (6-2, 275, 5.0) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Verbum Dei will be hitting the road in couple of weeks to a Pac 10 school in hopes of garnering his first offer. The talented defensive lineman has had a solid offseason in preparation for his all important senior season.
"I'm taking an unofficial visit to Washington on August 2nd," Beckles said. "I was talking to Coach Brian White about going up and then my mom said okay."

"When I get there, I'm going to talk to and get to know the coaches and take a tour of the campus," Beckles said. "Hopefully, I'll get an offer."
"Besides Washington, the same schools are recruiting me and I am keeping in touch with their coaches," Beckles said. "Those schools are UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Arizona, Arizona State, Hawai'i, New Mexico, Syracuse, Nebraska and I'm even hearing from USC a little bit."
Beckles has been working hard to assure another outstanding season on the gridiron this fall.
"I'm really working hard in the weight room getting ready for the season," Beckles said. "I'm getting faster and stronger. I'm benching 345 now and I'm squatting 430."
Former Verbum Dei line coach Owen Brown had the following to say about Beckles in an earlier interview with Rivals.com
"Noel was easily the best interior defensive lineman in our league," Brown said. "He's a freak. Noel was double teamed on just about every play and he was still able to put pressure on the quarterback."
"The thing about Noel is he has that nasty streak in him when he's on the field," Brown said. "He's a nice kid off the field, but when he steps in between the lines, he's all about business."
"Noel isn't about making friends while on the field," Brown said. "He's about winning."
As a junior Beckles accounted for 52 tackles, 13 tackles for loss five sacks and three fumble recoveries.
Beckles made the Rivals.com California Preseason Top 100 team for the class of 2009 landing as the Golden State's No. 71 prospect at any position.
