"Oregon is one of my favorite schools," Nuckols said. "I like the weather up there. I'm not really into heat. Cool weather will be an important part of my decision.
"I have spoken a bit with the Oregon coaches and we hit it off from the start. They seem like good company for me to be around and good coaches for me to learn from.
"I really like the coaches at Colorado," Nuckols said. "They are really nice people.
"I think I will make up my mind after I get a chance to visit the schools that want me and then afterwards talk it over with my parents.
Whoever lands Nuckols will be getting an outstanding interior defensive lineman and that is a position you can never have enough quality.
The scouting report on Nuckols is he's a hard worker who displays outstanding leadership on the field. He has a good motor and is extremely quick off the ball and powerful.
Nuckols already possess pretty good strength with his 273-pound power clean, 300-pound bench and a 450-pound squat.
Nuckols is athletic and quick enough to play fullback in goal line situations. He ended up rushing for 124 yards and scored seven touchdowns as a junior so he may be used a little bit like the way the Chicago Bears used Refrigerator Perry back in the day.
Make no mistake however, Nuckols projects as a defensive tackle.
As a junior, Nuckols earned second-team all-state underclassman and second-team all-league.
