SoCal DL makes his choice

In a recruiting season of odd stories, one of the strangest was three-star defensive tackle, Justin Brown (6-2, 256, 4.8) from Compton, Calif., and the lack of recruiting attention that he received for most of the season. Well he made up for lost time and after a whirlwind month on the recruiting trail, Brown made his commitment.
"I committed to Oregon today," Brown said. "Everything is great at Oregon."

"I had a great connection with the players and the coaches at Oregon," Brown said. "I also felt that looking at Oregon's depth chart that I have a great shot of coming in and playing right away."
"I also felt that way about Arizona State," Brown said. "I had a great connection with the coaches and players, but I just felt that the depth chart at Oregon had more of a need for the position that I play."
"I am happy that recruiting is over for me," Brown said. "I know it would turn out okay and I am happy that it did."
In Brown the Ducks get a player who earned first-team all-league and first-team all-area after accounting for 69 tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one interception that he returned 55 yards for a touchdown.
Brown chose Oregon over other offers from Arizona State, Washington, Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico and Boise State.
Brown was selected to the Rivals.com California Preseason Top 100 for the class of 2009 landing as the Golden State's No. 45 prospect at any position.
