SoCal DB shines in passing tournament

At the NIKE 7 on 7 Passing Championship last Friday, one of the teams that definitely opened up a lot of eyes was Culver City (Calif.). The Centaurs have looked good this spring but it wasn't until their convincing win over a very good Mission Viejo (Calif.) team in the tournament opener that caused others to take notice.
Culver City won the Beverly Hills tournament earlier in the summer and finished second to Valencia in the loaded Bonita tournament to qualify for the NIKE event. The Centaurs have a junior quarterback with Div I ability, three legit Div I receivers and a defensive back that we feel is one of the top cover corners in the state.

Tyrone Justin, 5-10, 160 pounds shows up well on film and looked very good at the tournament. He's quick and gets great breaks on the ball. Justin ran track last season and has clocked a 10.9-100m so he has plenty of speed and really knows how to play the corner position.
Justin is also a quality receiver and will get looks on both sides of the ball. As a junior, the athlete caught 21 balls for 314 yards and four touchdowns to earn all-league honors. On defense, Justin had 20 tackles and picked off three balls and corner is where we feel he projects best in college.
On the recruiting front, Justin said he has a couple of offers on the table and added a couple of Pac 10 programs could be close to doing so well as well.
"Idaho State and Nevada have offered me," Justin said. "My coaches have also told me that Cal and Washington State like me a lot and could offer me soon. Michael Bumpus is at Washington State and he played here and likes it there a lot. I like Cal too, they have a good defense and I like the Pac 10.
"Really, I'm pretty open right now. It's still early in the process and I'm just going to see who shows me the most interest and who offers and then I'll be able to make a decision."
