Safety prospect Marlon Johnson (6-0. 183, 4.5) from Inglewood, Calif., took his first recruiting visit to Nevada before the holidays and now that the dead period is over, he is ready to pack his bags and hit the road.

"I am blessed enough to have another trip because there are many players who don't even have even one trip," Johnson said. "I'm just real happy to have this trip so I can see the state of New Mexico again. My dad owns a trucking business so I have been through all 50 states.
After Johnson's trip to New Mexico he will visit UNLV on January 18th. There is a possibility that Colorado will come in late for Johnson if some things do turn out along the recruiting trail as planned.
Washington and Cal are other possibilities.
In an earlier interview with Johnson he had the following to say about his Nevada visit.
"Having Nevada as my first trip has been great," Johnson said. "The Nevada campus was amazing. "It's not very big, but big enough where I could get to class with no difficulties.
"The athletic facilities were amazing," Johnson said."I was impressed with the campus overall and it looks like they have some plans to construct some more buildings.
One of the things that have excited colleges is the fact that Johnson started at six different positions during his senior season. He also returned punts and kicks.
As a defensive back, playing both corner and safety, Johnson racked up 37 tackles, three pass deflects, one pick and one fumble recovery.
While playing quarterback, running back and wide receiver this season, Johnson rushed for 159 yards and scored four touchdowns. He had 11 receptions for 213 yards and one receiving touchdown. He passed for 261 yards and threw for two touchdowns.
