SoCal DB making a comeback

Going into the 2007 season safety Antonio Crews (6-0, 190, 4.6) from Carson, Calif., was considered one of the best underclassmen in the Golden State, but his junior season was cut short due to personal problems so he enters his senior season more as a sleeper.
Crews should be helped by the arrival of former Dorsey defensive coordinator, Ralph Caldwell, who has helped a lot players achieve their dream of playing college football. Caldwell has high praise for his talented safety.

"You know all of the great defensive backs, I have had at Dorsey," Caldwell said. "Antonio is just like them. He has NFL written all over him.
"Antonio reminds me a lot of (UCLA freshman) Rahim Moore, but maybe he's thicker" Caldwell said. "He's rangy, physical and he's an outstanding tackler."
"Everybody is looking at Antonio," Caldwell said. "With a good senior season, he will be one of the highest recruited safeties in the state."
"The reason why schools are taking a wait and see attitude is because he only played four games due to personal reasons," Caldwell said. "Now that he's back, he's ready for a big season."
"Antonio has a great attitude," Caldwell said. "He hasn't missed a practice since he came back in spring."
"The thing that separates Antonio from the rest is his physicality," Caldwell said. "But that's not is only is only talent, Antonio also has great ball skills and has the knack for making the big play."
"All the Pac 10 schools are looking at him," Caldwell said. "Like I said, he's going to be a name that colleges are well aware of this fall."
