SoCal DB is headed to Boise State

Lynwood (Calif.) had a nice group of athletes on the roster this year and up to three or four players could sign with a Div I school. One such player is defensive back Keith McGowen who just announced for Boise State.
McGowen, 5-9, 165 pounds is a lock down cornerback and one of the top players in the CIF Southern section this year. He had 28 tackles and one interception on defense but was rarely tested and those numbers don't reflect the kind of season he had.

At the SoCal Nike camp, McGowen clocked a 4.68 in the 40, 4.25 in the shuttle and jumped 30 inches in the vertical. He also clocked a 4.56 at a Nike combine earlier in the spring.
"I just committed last week," McGowen said. "I took my visit back in December and have wanted to commit ever since. My family wanted me to hold off but I always knew that's where I wanted to be and I'm very excited about this decision.
"Boise State has a great football program and I like the coaching staff a lot. "A lot of the former coaches have left but they're keeping the DB coach so that's good for me. I also like the academics and the Business program is very good there."
