SoCal DB hits

Hard-hitting safety Jamell Murry (5-11, 180, 4.45) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Jordan is somewhat unknown to recruitneks, but according to Jordan assistant coach Elijah Asante, he’s known very well to the local Pac-10 teams and more.
“Coach (USC DB coach) (Greg) Burns has invited Jamell to USC games and has asked for tape,” Asante said. “He has even come over to Jordan to see a game.”

“During that game Jamell had a monstrous hit,” Asante said. “The whole crowd came to its feet. He’s a big hitter.”
UCLA has also shown interest in Murry.
“Coach (RB coach) (Eric) Bieniemy has asked me to give him some tape,” Asante said. “Jamell has gone to a couple of UCLA’s games.”
According to Asante most of the Pac-10, WAC and Mountain West has been in contact with him.
Murry plays both ways for Jordan and he also plays special teams.
On offense, Murry plays running back and wide receiver. He has accounted for eight touchdowns running the football and two touchdowns as a receiving the ball.
On defense Murry has lined up at safety, corner and linebacker. On the season Asante has racked up approximately 80 tackles, four forced fumbles, three sacks, two fumble recoveries and two picks.
