SoCal DB beginning to heat up

Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger is garnering the reputation as a school that you can depend on for D-I recruits year after year and this year is no different. Rivals.com has already introduced you to safety Dijon Washington and it is time now to introduce you to Leuzinger cornerback Semaj Harris (5-11, 180, 4.49).
"Semaj is very intelligent on and off the field," Leuzinger assistant coach in charge of recruiting Ralph Oliver said. "He's like a coach on the field.

"Semaj is a student of the game and doesn't make mistakes. He's a hard worker and while we are in the off-season, Semaj is always requesting film to better prepare for his senior season.
"We envision Semaj as a lockdown cover corner," Oliver said. "He has shown the skills to play press coverage or zone.
"UCLA defensive line coach Todd Howard invited Semaj to their junior day tomorrow (March 8th)," Oliver said. "Coach Howard was very impressed with his film and the way Semaj is willing to mix it up and hit people from the secondary position.
"Oregon State has invited Semaj up to their elite camp in June. Washington State viewed his film on March 5th and there could be a possible offer.
"West Virginia and Washington has requested his transcripts," Oliver said. "UCLA also requested Semaj's transcripts and the Bruins are high on his list because of the success of their defensive backs and because he would like to go to school close to home if possible.
Harris earned first-team all-league and second-team all-area from his cornerback spot after racking up 63 tackles, nine tackles for loss, six pass deflections, four forced fumbles, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and two sacks.
Harris is planning to take in the Nike Camp held in Los Angeles in April.
The scouting report on Harris is he's very physical and packs a powerful punch as a hitter. He also participates in track and runs the 100-m in 10.8.
