SoCal corner reaps benefit

Keep your eyes on cornerback Chris Hill (5-10, 170, 4.47) from Carson, Calif., he could be one of those players who shoots up the rankings with an outstanding senior season.
Hill should benefit by the arrival to Carson, of former Dorsey defensive coordinator Ralph Caldwell, who has sent 53 defensive players to the D-I level and currently, he has six players, he has coached playing in the NFL.

"Chris is more of a man cover guy," Caldwell said. "He has good size and is very physical. He has all the potential in the world."
High praise from one the Los Angeles areas best defensive coaches.
On the recruiting trail, Hill is still waiting for his first offer, but the interest is there, so it should just a matter of time before Hill lands his first offer.
"New Mexico is showing a real good interest in me," Hill said. "Also Boise State is talking about offering. The schools want to see my first game this season."
"I'm hoping to hear more from Washington, Boise State, Cal, New Mexico and Fresno State," Hill said. "For me New Mexico stands out the most, they're showing me the most attention."
"I haven't set up any official visits at all," Hill said. "I'd like to visit Cal though."
"When I start getting offers, and I feel comfortable with a school, I might end it right there."
What is Hill looking for in a school?
"Getting an education is real important to me," Hill said. "Being somewhere that's good for me and where I'm comfortable with."
"Location is a little factor to me," Hill said. "I'm comfortable with the Los Angeles area."
Hill is already qualified with his 2.9 and his 1150 SAT score.
