That probably won't be the case much longer. A few weeks ago, the 5-foot-10, 160-pounder didn't hold any offers. Now, he has three of them.
The latest came over the weekend when Southern Miss pulled the trigger.
"I went there for junior day [Saturday]," Declouet said. "I had a good time. I talked a lot to the coaches. I talked to the [receivers coach]. I talked to the offensive coordinator. All of them gave me their number. I liked it there. I actually didn't think I was going to get an offer."
While at Southern Miss, Declouet also spoke at length with head coach Larry Fedora, whom he said made a strong impression on him.
"He told me that if people commit early to their school, even if I get hurt I'm still going to have a free education to go there," Declouet said. "I was shocked."
Declouet also has offers from Central Florida and Memphis. UCF's offer came last week.
Additionally, Declouet is hearing from Louisiana Tech, Nebraska, Pittsburgh and Texas A&M. He attended junior days at LSU and Texas A&M. Of the three junior days he has been to, he said the trip to Southern Miss stood out.
Even so, Declouet said he has no leader or even a top five yet.
"I think my next offer is going to come from Pittsburgh or Nebraska," Declouet said.
