Snyder back from Nebraska trip

Matt Snyder has had a busy few weeks.
The San Ramon (Calif.) California three-star tight end remains committed to Oregon State but he had an exceptionally good visit to Nebraska this past weekend and now the Huskers are under serious consideration.

"I didn't know what to expect because I had never been there but the facilities were crazy," Snyder said. "I was pretty blown away by the football facilities.
"Outside of that all the fans were really cool. We went to the basketball game and they sold out and the football games have been sold out for 50 years. We were sitting in a restaurant eating and fans would come up to us and ask us how we were doing. They were all big supporters so I had a good time."
Snyder absolutely holds no grudge against coach Mike Riley, either, which could be important in his deliberations.
The night before Riley took the Nebraska job he had an in-home visit with Snyder as the Oregon State coach. But Snyder said it was a good lesson learned and he's really just focused on making the best decision.
"It was a good lesson learned for me just about the real world and how it really is a business and how things could change," Snyder said. "I understand he did what was best for him and I was just thankful he stood with the offer at Nebraska.
"I also talked to (new Oregon State) coach (Gary) Andersen (Sunday night) and my parents and I are going to talk about it. It has been a crazy couple weeks so I'm going to take a deep breath and figure this thing out. I'm definitely considering (Nebraska)."
Snyder had an introductory phone call with Andersen and if he's serious about staying with his Oregon State pledge those talks could progress in the coming days. The three-star looks to be considering both programs and taking some time to figure out which one fits best.
"It's really just getting to know coach Andersen and what he plans to do up at Oregon State," Snyder said. "This was the first time I talked to him so he just introduced himself and told me what he plans to do and what kind of guy he is. We'll probably talk again this week and he wants to talk to my parents."
Snyder finished with 17 receptions for 408 yards and four touchdowns in his senior season.
