Smith selects Stanford
Four-star offensive lineman Allen Smith (6-5, 325, 5.05) from Tempe (Ariz.) Corona del Sol has committed to Stanford. He made his announcement moments ago at a press conference at his school.

“The death my father nine years ago played the most influential role in my decision,” Smith said. “His wish before he deceased was for me to go at least 750 miles away for school. I felt that Stanford was the school that best fit me.”
“In my heart of hearts,” Smith said. “Arizona State was my first and foremost choice, but I felt just as comfortable with Stanford as I did with ASU.”
“When it came down to it,” Smith said. “Stanford, Notre Dame and Arizona State were my final three schools.”
