Another Texas defensive back has picked up his first scholarship offer and this time it's Coppell's Devin Smith.
Smith, the 5-foot-11, 179-pounder, found out recently that Rice was to be the first school to send him a scholarship offer. Regardless, he's taking his time and is looking at several schools while he goes through the process.
"I was excited about Rice because it was my first offer," Smith said. "I'm also not going to commit anywhere yet though. Wisconsin, LSU, and Oklahoma State are the schools I'd say that are showing a lot of interest."
On top of those schools, Smith says that Louisville, Texas and Arkansas are coaches that could be be coming down to watch him in spring practice.
He hasn't taken any trips since his junior day visit to LSU, but has some more in mind.
"I'm probably going to try and make my way to OU and Oklahoma State," Smith said. "Then I'll probably look at any other nearby schools that are nearby that want me to come down."
Smith recorded five interceptions as a sophomore with seven as a junior.
