Smith has plenty of interest

After a strong showing at the Miami NIKE Camp, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna safety Eain Smith has seen his stock rise. One SEC program in particular has showing a lot of interest.
"Plenty of coaches have come by," Smith said. "My coach told me that Georgia was interested and that they were going to offer."

Currently the 5-foot-11, 177-pounder has a top six of the Bulldogs, Auburn, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), LSU and UCLA.
The Bruins may seem like a surprise to make the top group, given the distance from South Florida, but they are a program that Smith has long had his eye on.
"I like the environment," he said. "I have family over there. I've always wanted to go out to California."
It has been previously reported that Virginia, Pittsburgh, Florida and Auburn have offered Smith.
Smith had a strong showing at the Miami NIKE Camp, posting a 4.56-second 40-yard dash and a 4.06 in the shuttle.
Smith plays on a team with multiple Division I-A prospects, including running back Xavier Stinson and wide receiver/safety Kamar Aiken. Going up against such talent in practice every day only serves to help Smith's development.
"It's good to be around so much talent," Smith said. "Me and Kamar, we challenge each other every day."
Smith sees himself playing close to the line of scrimmage at the next level.
"I think I'm more of a safety," he said. "We run a 3-4 defense and I am in the box.
"There's nothing wrong with hitting."
