Smith favors five schools

One of the top running back prospects from the state of Alabama is Orwin Smith. Smith, 6-0 and 190 pounds, rushed for over 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns last season as a junior for Phenix City (Ala.) Central High School. According to Smith he has eight scholarship offers.
"Right now I like Auburn, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Alabama.

"Auburn is a nice program and the only coaches I really hung out with last year. I know the coaches very well. I went to four games. I love he atmosphere and crowd at Auburn.
"Vandy is not a big school and not a bad school. I am talking with them and I think I can be an impact player. Those are good words from any coach. Plus, Vandy has the best graduation rates in SEC.
"I have not been to Clemson but I have heard some good things. Their home games are packed and they are loud. They run and pass and you can never can tell. Clemson is a top team in the ACC.
"One thing about Georgia Tech is they love to run. You can't help but love that if you are a running back. They have a new coach from Navy that is going to be good there."
"I visited Alabama for a junior day a few months back. I love the campus, the facilities, and the town. I met the coaches. With Nick Saban there people are expecting titles.
"I need to have a good feeling from the coaches and pick a school where I will get along well with these coaches because I know I will be with these guys for four or five years. Of course I will be looking at depth charts as well."
Georgia Tech is recruiting Smith as an athlete, while his four other favorites are recruiting him at running back. He has already (unofficially) visited Alabama, Auburn and Georgia Tech. Smith will camp at Auburn and Alabama in July and he hopes to visit Clemson and Vandy by the end of the summer.
