Smith eyes SEC stops

Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus 2016 tight end Kaden Smith has been one of the most highly sought prospects in Texas with offers coming from coast-to-coast. However, Smith has been taking his time with the process and he plans to continue gathering all the information he can.
"I'm really enjoying it," Smith said. "I'm not taking any pressure. I'm not too anxious to make a decision. I'll just do it when I'm ready."

Stanford has been a school often linked to the standout and Smith does not deny his high interest in the Cardinal program, but he is not quite ready to start narrowing his list and release a list of favorites.
"To be honest right now I'm not really sure," Smith said. "I don't really want to narrow it down until I know for sure and visit other schools."
And he does have a few schools on his mind. He plans to camp at Alabama in July, and he is also looking to visit a couple more schools including another SEC program.
"I'm still looking at a few schools," Smith said. "I'm thinking about going down to Georgia for the first time in a couple of weeks and I'm just trying to branch out and see other schools I'm not really thinking about right now."
Several schools are showing plenty of interest, and Smith said there has not been one school that is standing above the rest in terms of interest. There have been a few schools who have stepped up their interest significantly though.
"Yeah a few schools," Smith said. "A couple of schools were like sorry we came so late. I was surprised because it's still so early. But Georgia has jumped in there. So a couple of schools."
Smith was named to the Top Underclassmen Performers at the Rivals Camp Series in Dallas and participated in the 2014 Rivals250 Underclassmen Challenge.
He led Flower Mound Marcus in receiving and scoring as a sophomore in 2013 and was the second leading receiver as a freshman in 2012.
