Smallwood not swayed

Tashon Smallwood has been committed to USC since late February but a recent unofficial visit to UCLA perked up some intrigue.
The Fresno (Calif.) Central East defensive tackle promises, though, he's perfectly happy with the Trojans and really just took that UCLA unofficial visit because his teammate and friend, Michiah Quick, wanted to see the place.

So Smallwood decided to jump in the car with everybody and take a trip to Los Angeles. There was no ulterior motive and his commitment to USC is strong.
"It was cool," Smallwood said. "We really went for Quick. I just went for the ride. I went there before and it was a pretty cool trip."
The 6-foot-1, 285-pound prospect was on campus so the UCLA coaches saw that as a perfect opportunity to do some recruiting.
The Bruins have been aggressively after Quick and Smallwood and told the defensive tackle something that stood out during the visit.
"They're still recruiting me hard," Smallwood said.
"They told me they wished they would have offered me sooner. I pretty much went down there with (Quick) just to check it out. I usually just go wherever he goes. I just went for the ride."
Arizona, Boise State, Cal, Fresno State, Houston, Miami, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon State, San Jose State and UCLA have offered Smallwood, who committed to USC shortly after his junior day visit in late February.
The Fresno Central East star also took a trip to Cal recently and the Golden Bears haven't backed off one bit, either, but he said his commitment to the Trojans is not coming undone.
"I'm happy with the SC thing," Smallwood said.
