Smalls names two early favorites

Darius Smalls does not have any offers yet.
But the 2015 defensive tackle from Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood has a whole lot of schools interested in him.
"I have interest from Florida State, Miami, Duke, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Missouri, Purdue and South Carolina," Smalls said.
The 6-foot-3, 345-pound prospect also believes some offers could be close with two coming from the ACC and one from the Big 10.
Nothing is official yet but Smalls said last week at the Under Armour Junior Combine that he's hopeful things could really pick up soon.
"Purdue is close to offering," Smalls said. "Miami and Florida State could be close to offering as well."
Because the Jacksonville Sandalwood defensive tackle does not have any offers it's tough to have frontrunners but Smalls said two programs do stand out.
One might be a surprise.
"Right now, it's Michigan State and Miami as favorites," Smalls said.
"Growing up, Miami has been one of my favorite teams and I liked the tempo of the defense. I like the tempo of the team. With Michigan State I really like how they're aggressive on defense."
