Smaller schools looking at Texas QB

Harker Heights, Texas, two-star dual-threat quarterback Ryan Balentine had a very solid senior season and has suddenly started to get more and more recruiting attention from some mid-major schools.
"Recently Arkansas State, University of Central Arkansas and South Dakota State have been recruiting me the most," Balentine, who is 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds, said.

"In January I should be going up to Central Arkansas, but that's pretty much it. I've been to Arkansas State already. It was a great campus and a great experience for me. It was unofficial. They asked me to come up. I was there with a guy that was on an official so I pretty much experienced everything that happens on an official. I got to meet the head coach, my recruiting coach (Gilbert) and the offensive coordinator. They talked to me about maybe redshirting me the first year and seeing where it goes after that."
The visit definitely left a lasting impression.
"Arkansas State is probably No. 1 and then UCA is after them," he said.
