Small-school star has plenty of offers

Sweeney, Texas, safety Thomas Wright is one of the better small school players in Texas. And he has the offers to prove it.
Wright, who is 6-foot, 190-pounds and has been timed at 4.6-seconds in the 40-yard dash, has offers on the table from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Northwestern, LSU and Iowa to name a few.

"The recruiting process is always in the back of my mind," Wright, who benches 280 pounds and squats 405 pounds, said.
"It's hard not to think about it."
Wright said he really doesn't have a leader, and will begin to think about that stuff when visits start. But he does admit that a few offers do sort of standout.
"I've been thinking a lot about Nebraska," Wright said. "They want me to also run track, and have offered me in both sports. I'm a high-hurdler, so I'd like to maybe continue to do both on the next level.
"Oklahoma State is also an interesting school because they've been sending me a ton of mail. The same thing is true with Oklahoma and Northwestern. I really like what they have to offer."
Wright said he's just now mainly focused on two-a-day practices that began last week.
"Everything is coming a long quite well," Wright said. "Everything I do is a little bit better. I'm faster, stronger and smarter.
"We have something to prove this year. We were picked fourth in our district."
