Junior to Watch: Ryan Snyder

School: Midlothian, Va.

Position: Defensive end

Size and speed: Snyder is 6-foot-3, weighs 240 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.78 seconds. He bench presses 405 pounds, squats 450 and has a 30-inch vertical.

Statistics: As a junior, Snyder made 70 tackles and registered 12 sacks.

Honors: All-metro

Favorite Schools: Maryland, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Connecticut, Georgia Tech.

Skinny: Snyder comes from a small school in Virginia but he’s made college coaches take notice. He’s received letters from more than 20 schools.

“I like the coaches, the location and I have a good friend who plays at Maryland,” he said. “If Maryland offered, I’d probably commit. I like the coaches and campus at Wake Forest, I’ve been a big fan of North Carolina for a long time and I like the defense that Virginia Tech runs. Connecticut is the perfect size school and I’m a huge Chan Gailey fan so that’s why I’m interested in Georgia Tech.”

Snyder will camp at Maryland, Wake Forest and UConn this summer. He hopes to make a decision by the summer.
