Small-school star fulfills dream

He’s been called by people in West Texas as the next Wes Welker, and it looks like he’s going to get his opportunity to follow in his footsteps. He is two-star athlete Eric Morris of Shallowater, Texas.
“When coach Leach offered me a scholarship in his office, I knew that it was going to be impossible for me to turn down,” Morris said. “I’ve been going to Texas Tech games ever since I was little, and I’ve always been a big Tech fan.”

Coach Leach’s offer was one that Morris couldn’t turn down.
“He was honest and said he was glad I was patient with them,” Morris said. “This has always been a dream of mine.”
Morris, who was also being recruited by Texas A&M and SMU, was named district most valuable player on offense and an all-South Plains most valuable player as a senior.
