Slocum heavily focused on season

Things can get hectic for top prospects like four-star rated Rivals250 running back Tracy Slocum with numerous offers to choose from, constant attention, and more mail than many know what to do with on a daily basis.
However, the Clovis (Calif.) East offensive star is hitting the lull that usually happens in between the summer and fall months while his practices are hitting full swing and colleges are doing the same.

"It's the same old, same old," Slocum said about his recruiting process. "I haven't set up visits, but I'm working on it."
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound speedy running back has already started thinking about one trip he would like to take.
"Cal is definitely one I'll see," Slocum said. "They were the first school to offer and that's a really good program. I just want to see them but they're not necessarily the favorite."
Slocum, rated as the No. 17 overall prospect in California, does not yet know when he'll make his decision. He is also not making any references as to favorites.
He lists Cal, USC, Fresno State, Washington State, Arizona State, Arizona, and Nebraska as the schools he's looking into and thinking about taking visits to.
One thing that won't make a difference for his recruitment is the distance from home.
"No not really," he said. "It's really not that big of a deal to me where the schools is whether it's near or far."
Slocum is no different from any other high school player across the country as he prepares for his upcoming season.
"We're looking good," he said. "We've got quite a few quality players this year and we're just ready for the first game."
Slocum is ranked as the No. 18 running back in the country.
