Sloan El pulls the trigger

The excitement could easily be heard in the voice of Philadelphia Roman Catholic dual-threat quarterback Andre Sloan El’s voice. After months and months of hard word, he had finally reached the peak of the recruiting process. He’s now gone from one of the top uncommitted quarterbacks in the Midwest to one of the region’s top commitments. So where is he heading?

“I just committed tonight,” Sloan El, who is 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, said. “I’m a Golden Gopher now.”

Sloan El visited Minnesota this past weekend and hinted all throughout the past few days that a commitment was coming, so when the coaches from Minnesota visited with him tonight, it just put the finishing touches on a decision that he was ready to make.

“When I went up there for a visit the atmosphere was like a big family,” he said. “That got my attention right away. They have the perfect set up at Minnesota, and I know that I’m going to fit in.”
