Slick knows four visits

Fort Smith (Ark.) Southside wide receiver Slick Shelley has stayed about as open as any recruit can throughout the recruiting process. However, the time is near where the list must be cut to five schools and four teams have secured a spot in Shelley’s top five.
“I still do not have any official visits set,” Shelley said. “I know that Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee and Oklahoma State are going to get four of my visits. I’m still deciding about who gets my fifth visit right now.”

Last season, Shelley caught 62 passes for 873 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also returned 21 kickoffs for 611 yards (29.1 yard average) and one touchdown. As a sophomore, he caught 56 passes for 1,019 yards and 15 touchdowns, as he helped lead his team to the Class 5A Championship.
“We are going to wait a few more weeks before we set a date for those visits,” Shelley said. “I know that I am going to wait until after the season to take my visits though.”
Fort Smith has struggled somewhat this year with a 4-5-1 record, however they still project to make the play-offs. Shelley was named to the U.S. Army All-American game.
