Sleeper WR is a catch

Though he has yet to grab a D-I scholarship offer, sleeper Josh Morrow (6-4, 205, 4.4), a wide receiver prospect from Glendale (Ariz.) Mountain Ridge is putting up record setting numbers on the field this fall and college recruiters are taking notice. His performance is rapidly increasing his recruiting stock amongst college coaches.
"I have an offer from Northern Arizona but am getting quite a bit of interest right now from Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Army, and Arizona State," Morrow said. "I like Northern Arizona and am grateful for their offer but I want to look at Division I first. I feel that I can play major college football."

Morrow's performance on the football field this Fall certainly backs up the claim that he can play big-time college athletics. Morrow has helped lead his team to a 4-1 record and a fifth place ranking in Arizona's largest class (5A). He's done so by putting up record setting numbers as a wide receiver.
"I have about 630 yards receiving this year and nine touchdowns," Morrow said. "I'm also averaging about 24 yards per reception. Last game we kind of had the other team out-manned so we ran the ball a lot and I sat out the entire second half."
"A couple of weeks ago against Sandra Day High, I caught nine passes for 329 yards and six touchdowns," Morrow said. "The yardage is a new Class 5A record and the six touchdowns is a new single game record for the state of Arizona."
Morrow brings outstanding athletic ability to the football field. He clocks a 4.4-second 40-yard dash and claims a 36-inch vertical leap. He also displays solid strength, with a bench max of 260 pounds.
"Basketball was always my first love growing up," Morrow said. "I've been able to dunk since I was in the eighth grade."
"Football is my primary sport now," Morrow said. "I still play basketball and was a second team all region selection as a junior, but I know football is the sport I'll be playing in college."
Morrow said he's open to the recruiting process but admits to having an early list of favorites. He said his dream is to stick close to home and play football for the Arizona State Sun Devils.
"My top five right now would be Arizona State, Northern Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and Oregon," Morrow said. "I've always been a Sun Devil's fan and have always wanted to go there. It's my dream, but who knows what will happen."
"With Oregon, I like their program a lot," Morrow said. "Their recruiting coach came and talked to me at school last Friday when Oregon was in town to play Arizona State. They play in the Pac-10, have really nice facilities and are really good this year. They just beat ASU."
Morrow said that he'd weigh a variety of factors in making a college choice.
"I want to go play for a good team," Morrow said. "I also want to go play for a good receiver's coach; a person that can make me a better player."
"Location will also be a factor for me. I'd kind of like to stay on the West side and play in the Pac-10 if possible."
Morrow said he's placing no timetable on a decision. He also said that he would not hesitate to snatch the right offer if it comes along.
"D-I interest is picking up," Morrow said. "The Oregon coaches told me that they're pretty interested in me after watching my film against Sandra Day. We'll see where it goes from there."
"When I make my decision will completely depend on who offers and when," Morrow said. "If a certain school or two offers me early, I'll accept right away."
