"New Mexico and New Mexico State have offered but UTEP has as well now," Matthews said. "I get a lot of letters from other schools like Texas Tech, Illinois, Kansas State, Colorado, Arizona, and some others."
Matthews says that right now that the out-of-state team is leading the way.
"I'm liking UTEP a lot," Matthews said. "They just have a nice facility. I like the coaches and I've watched them play a couple of times."
Matthews has attended the NIKE Training Camp in College Station, Texas and the UTEP camp. He thought by now, he'd be committed.
"I kind of wanted to have a decision by now, but I think I may go through the season to see what else comes up," he said. "I'm uncommitted right now."
Matthews posted a 4.16 shuttle time and a 30 inch vertical at the NIKE Training Camp.
