Sleeper WR could be a catch

There is a two-sport star who is flying under the radar, mostly because of a coaching change, but look for that to change. Keep an eye out for wide receiver/defensive back Brando Tessar (6-1, 185, 4.42) from West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade.
As a football player, Tessar plays on both sides of the ball and lines up at slot receiver and safety . The colleges that already know about are recruiting him for his skills on both sides of the ball, but the emphasis as a slot receiver.

Tessar is also highly thought of as a baseball pitcher who throws the heat in the low 90's. That's very good for a high school player.
One of the reasons that Tessar will get on the map besides his ability as a football player will be the arrival of former Lake Balboa (Calif.) Birmingham head coach, Ed Croson as Chaminade's new head coach. The high respected Croson is already letting colleges know about his star receiver.
"Brando is as good as the best guys we've had at Birmingham," Croson said. "He plays receiver and defensive back, but i think he's a receiver in college (also a prospect in baseball) because of his speed and hands."
"Brando is a lot like (USC bound) De'Von Flournoy, it would be tough to pick between the two" Croson said. "Flournoy may be a little more athletic, they're about the same speed for 40 yards, but Tessar is almost Ivy League academically and tougher than nails.
"Brando is definitely D-I," Croson said. "Oregon and Arizona are recruiting him for both sports."
Tessar has been invited to attend camps at Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA and Washington. He is planning on attending all four in June.
As a junior, Tessar had 48 receptions for 720 yards and six touchdowns. He ended up the season with 1,033 all-purpose yards. His performance earned him all-league honors.
For Tessar's career at Chaminade, he has 82 receptions for 1,195 yards and 1,666 all-purpose yards with 12 touchdowns.
In the weight room, Tessar's current bench is 275, he had 16 reps of 185-pounds, and his squat is 385. He has recorded a 32-inch vertical, ran a very impressive 41.5 shuttle and broad jumped 9-10.
Definitely a prospect to keep your eyes on for both football and basketball.
