Sleeper Virginia QB is one to watch

Virginia is home to a number of quarterbacks in the 2009 recruiting class. Stafford (Va.) Brooke Point quarterback Brian Hudson is one of those to watch. The 6-foot-4, 195-pounder hasn't garnered any offers, but is getting interest from schools.
"I just spoke to Maryland not too long ago and they really like him," Brooke Point head coach Jeff Berry said. "Schools want to do a little more investigating because quarterback is a very important position. They can't take it lightly.

"From what all the coaches are telling me, they are all very, very interested. Nobody is ready to pull the trigger, but it shouldn't be too much longer for him. I also heard Boston College liked him on film a lot."
Last season Hudson threw for 1,300-yards and 12 touchdowns according to Berry. What stands out about his ability?
"He throws the ball extremely well," he said. "He's a big kid that moves well in the pocket. He's not Pat White, but he can move when he has to. In our offense he doesn't throw the ball a lot because of Chase Barnett. He would be able to throw two or three thousand yards. He takes care of the ball and has a tremendous deep pass.
"The thing that stands out about him is his level headedness. I'm not going to compare him to Tom Brady. But he's cool and stays even keel at quarterback. I think that's important. He is also a very hard worker that is dedicated to our program."
Hudson obviously needs more experience; where else does he need to improve?
"He needs to work on a lot of things," he said. "He's got to get better at reading defenses and more command of the huddle."
