Sleeper to hit the road

How do you know that you play for an under publicized school? When you earn State Defensive Player of Year and you are still considered a sleeper prospect. Though this sleeper is looking for his first offer, he has set up three trips.
The player in question is defensive lineman/offensive lineman Derek Kosub (6-4, 295, 5.1) from Reno (Nev.) Hug.

"I'm taking my first visit to UNR (Nevada Reno) on January 6th," Kosub said. "I'm also committed to visiting UNLV and Fresno State but the date hasn't been set as of yet."
Besides hearing from Nevada, UNLV and Fresno State; Kosub is getting phone calls from Washington, Cal, Arizona State, Oregon State, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
Because of Kosub's senior season performance, Hug high school was the surprise team of the year for the State of Nevada.
Hug won their first regional championship in the school's history and played for the first time ever in the state championship game.
Kosub and company ended up losing to Las Vegas high school, the team that was the state's runner up for the last two years.
Kosub is a gritty football player who gutted it out in the championship with a painfully bruised knee. He injured himself during the semi-final game and nothing was going to keep him out of the biggest game of his young life.
Kosub was honored the Silver State Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 60 tackles, eight sacks, eight tackles for loss, four fumbles caused, fumble recoveries and one pick that he returned 47 yards.
Kosub brings a lot of versatility to the table. He projects on the D-I level as defensive tackle or run stopping defensive end if he ends up playing on the defensive side of the ball.
If Kosub ends up playing offense he could end up playing center or guard.
