Sleeper TE expects big year

There is a sleeper tight end prospect who with a solid senior season, he could end up on plenty of D-I schools recruiting lists. Keep your eyes on Andrew Grimes from San Marino, Calif.
Grimes stands 6-foot-3, weighs 215 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.75. He benches 260 pounds and squats 360 pounds. San Marion head coach Rich Enright said, “Andrew would have been able to lift more weight for his squat, but he was sidelined with a foot injury and that limited what he could lift.”

Grimes is a very versatile athlete who also handles San Marino’s place-kicking and punting chores. He is very adept at pooch punting.
Make no mistake, Grimes is a tight end who has a very nice set of hands. “Andrew has the best hands I’ve coached in my 20 years of coaching,” Enright said. “He has a feel for the open spot and finds away to get open.”
A clutch receiver, Grimes caught 18 passes for approximately 450 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. He was selected all-area and first-team all-league for his junior year performance.
Even though Grimes is a sleeper USC, Oregon State, Oregon and Fresno State were by San Marino high school this past May.
Grimes will also see action as a defensive end his senior season.
One to remember this fall…
