Sleeper RB looked good at SPARQ

Sleeper running back Justin Sweeney (5-9, 165, 4.56) from Gilroy, Calif., is getting recruiting letters from several D-I schools. He recently competed in the East LA Sparq Combine and finished with a combined score of 81.3.
Sweeney was timed in the 40 at 4.56; he ran the shuttle in 4.25, benched 185-pounds 17 times and recorded a 34-inch vertical jump.

On the gridiron Sweeney proves he's a football player and not just a workout warrior. He was his league's co-Most Valuable Player as well as a first-team all-league selection.
The talented Sweeney was also selected first-team all-Central Coast Section (CCS) and was selected CCS junior of the year after rushing for 1,993 yards. He also had 174 yards receiving.
Sweeney is one of those players who are at his best in big games. He rushed for 301 yards versus defending CCS D-I champion Palma to spearhead a 29-22 win. He rushed for 267 yards versus Independence and scored the winning touchdown on 30 yard run with 25 seconds remaining to seal a 13-6 win.
Sweeney is n extremely hard worker in the weight room- combined total of 960-pounds. His bench is 285, he squats 440, and he power cleans 235. Power)
"Justin has all it takes to make it at the next level," Gilroy coach Darren Yafai said. "He has terrific speed, great balance, and phenomenal vision."
"Justin is a strong believer in the weightroom and is a fierce competitor," Yafai said. "He is receiving numerous letters from both D-I and D-II colleges."
